Universal Statuary Musical Girl & Boy with Saxophone by J. Kendrick 1971
Here's whimsical touch for any music-lover, music teacher or parent with musical children. These two must be brother and sister--that much is easy enough to see. The boy, in his Little Lord Fauntleroy suit, plays saxophone. His sibling, hold her hands over her ears at what must be discordant at best.
Both pieces are in excellent condition. Engraved, "J. Kendrick '71" and "Universal Statuary Corp 1971 Chicago".
Stand approximately 11" high.
I have taken these once gold toned whimsical pieces and have painted them a soft pink with a white wash. The white has brought out all of the details in these statues.
I have added to the girl a large rhinestone necklace, pink satin ribbon headband, five petal pink flowers with pearl centers. Then I have wrapped pearls around the bottom of both statues. I have also put on new white colored felt to the bottom of each one.
These would be adorable in an office, fireplace mantle or atop a piano.
